Chemical Project in Ethiopia

Shanghai Bixi Supply Chain Management Company and well-known company from related industry are now jointly

establishing a factory in Ethiopia producing formaldehyde related chemical products.

With the promotion of China's Belt and Road project, the prospect of African market is very vast.

The chairman of Lianyungang Shengli Resin Co., Ltd decided to invest in the construction of a plant in Ethiopia after several times of local research in Ethiopia from the year of 2020.

The factory’s designed annual producing capacity is 300,000 tons with a total of three phases. After the completion of the first phase in the end of 2023, the annual output will reach to 750,000 tons and the company plans to complete the second phase of the project at the end of 2024.

The third phase of the project is the deep processing of formaldehyde products, and then further deep processing of urea resin, methylal and paraformaldehyde.

This project is decided to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2025. In the idea of contributing to Africa's rapid development, the company expects to offer more than 600 jobs for Ethiopia once all three phases are operational.

Lianyungang Shengli Resin Material Co., Ltd. was established in June 2004, Mr. Hu Changzhou who is the chairman of the company specializes in the production and sales of formaldehyde for 20 years.

The company has 5 sets of silver catalyst for maldehyde production equipment and ancillary facilities, with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of 37% for maldehyde solution, the annual output value of nearly 1 billion RMB, annual profit of 100 million RMB, annual tax payment of 15 million RMB.

Covering an area of 30,000 square meters, the company has over 80 employees, including 2 senior technicians, 3 intermediate technicians and 6 production managers.

The production line all adopts modern DCS intelligent control system to realize the safety control of the whole production process, which is characterized by safety, stability and environmental protection. The product quality is reliable, up to 37.8%.

Lianyungang Shengli Resin Material Co., Ltd. has won the prize of excellent product quality in Jiangsu province. Because the exothermic reaction in the production process produces a lot of steam and a lot of hot water in the absorption process and the steam produced by the tail gas incinerator can provide a lot of clean and cheap high-quality heat for the surrounding enterprises, which has contributed to the economic and social development of Lianyungang and has been rewarded and commended by government departments for many times.

Butanol and Octanol

Butanol is mainly used as a solvent for resins, paints and adhesives and as a raw material for plasticizers (e.g. dimethyl phthalate). Octanol can be used directly as an organic solvent in the paint, coating, photographic, paper and textile, and light industry industries, but its most important use is the esterification reaction with phthalic anhydride to obtain dioctyl phthalate (DOP), which is an important plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride and is extremely widely used. The company's main upstream customers are China’s refineries in mainland and some of which cooperate intensively on a long-term contract basis. The main downstream customers are the mainstream DOP and DOTP plants in China’s coastal area including Jiangsu and Zhejiang.

Copper cathode and copper rods

The copper cathode is mainly from the middle east with the advantage of high-cost performance (The quality is the same as registered copper while the price is lower than that of registered copper). Meanwhile, the company's partner in the Middle East produces its own 8mm copper rods with an annual capacity of 25,000 tons. From 2022, we started sales work in Ningbo and Shanghai, etc. The sales progress is rapid and the market recognition is gradually increasing. We have accumulated

Methanol Storage in Djibouti

Methanol is the main raw material for producing formaldehyde and it is necessary to find tankers for discharging and storing methanol for production. After research, Horizon Terminal is an ideal place for storage by considering port conditions and transportation efficiency. Shanghai Bixi Supply Chain Management Company plans to rent 10,000 cubic meters of tank storage of tank storage at Djibouti with a 10-year long term contract.
